Business Chinese Introduction Phrases: Introduce Yourself Professionally

Phrases and scripts for introducing yourself, your company, and your products.

In Chinese business settings, an introduction is more than a formality — it is the moment when others form their first impression of your competence, your role, and the organisation behind you. A clear, well-structured introduction tells your counterpart who you are, what you do, and why the conversation is worth their time.

For learners, the encouraging part is that business Chinese introduction phrases follow predictable patterns. Whether you are introducing yourself at a client meeting, presenting your company at a conference, or describing a product on a phone call, the core building blocks are the same: a greeting, your name and role, your company, and one sentence about what you offer. The skill is not in memorising rare vocabulary — it is in assembling the right phrases for the right moment and delivering them with confidence.

This guide covers the four types of introductions you will encounter most often, the phrases and scripts for each, four realistic practice scenarios, and practical tips for refining your delivery. Every Chinese example includes characters, pinyin, and an English translation. Once you know the phrases, rehearse them in context with AI Role-Play so the words come naturally when you are standing in front of a real audience.

Module 1: Introduction Types

In Chinese business communication, introductions fall into four common categories. Knowing which type you are doing — and what your listener expects from each — helps you choose the right depth and tone.

Self-introduction — 自我介绍 (zìwǒ jièshào) — self-introduction

A 自我介绍 (zìwǒ jièshào — self-introduction) is the most frequent type. You use it when meeting someone for the first time, joining a meeting, or introducing yourself at a networking event. The standard structure is: greeting → name → company and role → one line about your responsibility. Keep it under 30 seconds unless asked to elaborate.

Company introduction — 公司介绍 (gōngsī jièshào) — company introduction

A 公司介绍 (gōngsī jièshào — company introduction) gives your counterpart a picture of the organisation behind you. It typically covers the founding year, main business scope, industry expertise, and notable clients or achievements. This type is common in pitch meetings, partner discussions, and conference presentations.

Product introduction — 产品介绍 (chǎnpǐn jièshào) — product introduction

A 产品介绍 (chǎnpǐn jièshào — product introduction) focuses on what you are offering. It highlights the product's main features, advantages, and real-world adoption. The goal is to help the listener understand what the product is, why it stands out, and how it has helped others — without turning the introduction into a full sales pitch.

Team introduction — 团队介绍 (tuánduì jièshào) — team introduction

A 团队介绍 (tuánduì jièshào — team introduction) is used when you are presenting a group — for example, introducing your team members to a client, or describing your department's structure at a kickoff meeting. It includes each person's name, role, and one relevant detail, usually in order of seniority or relevance to the conversation.

Module 2: Introduction Phrases and Scripts

The phrases below are the building blocks for most business Chinese introductions. Each one includes characters, pinyin, and English. Combine two or three to form a complete introduction suited to your situation.

Self-introduction phrases

您好,我是……公司的…… — Hello, I'm … from … company.

您好,我是星辰科技公司的项目经理李明。

Nín hǎo, wǒ shì Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī de xiàngmù jīnglǐ Lǐ Míng.

Hello, I'm Li Ming, project manager at Xingchen Technology.

This is the standard opening line for a self-introduction in a formal business setting. Use the person's surname and title if you know it: 王总,您好 (Wáng zǒng, nín hǎo — Hello, Director Wang). The structure "我是[公司]的[职位][姓名]" covers name, company, and role in one sentence.

我主要负责…… — I'm mainly responsible for…

我主要负责海外市场开发和客户关系维护。

Wǒ zhǔyào fùzé hǎiwài shìchǎng kāifā hé kèhù guānxì wéihù.

I'm mainly responsible for overseas market development and client relationship maintenance.

This phrase adds substance to your introduction by explaining what you actually do. It helps the listener understand why you are in the conversation and what topics you can speak to with authority.

很高兴认识您 — Nice to meet you.

很高兴认识您,期待今天的交流。

Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nín, qīdài jīntiān de jiāoliú.

Nice to meet you. I'm looking forward to today's discussion.

A warm closing line for a self-introduction. It signals respect and sets a positive tone. Use 您 (nín — you, formal) for clients, senior partners, and anyone you are meeting for the first time in a professional context.

Company introduction phrases

我们公司成立于……年 — Our company was established in…

我们公司成立于二零一五年,总部在上海。

Wǒmen gōngsī chénglì yú èr líng yī wǔ nián, zǒngbù zài Shànghǎi.

Our company was established in 2015, with headquarters in Shanghai.

This is the standard way to open a company introduction. Pair the founding year with the headquarters location to give the listener an immediate sense of scale and origin.

我们主要经营…… — We mainly deal in…

我们主要经营智能制造设备和工业自动化解决方案。

Wǒmen zhǔyào jīngyíng zhìnéng zhìzào shèbèi hé gōngyè zìdònghuà jiějué fāng'àn.

We mainly deal in smart manufacturing equipment and industrial automation solutions.

This phrase defines your company's core business in one sentence. Keep it specific — naming the product category and the solution type is more useful than saying "we do many things."

我们在……领域有丰富经验 — We have rich experience in…

我们在新能源领域有丰富的项目经验,服务过五十多家企业。

Wǒmen zài xīn néngyuán lǐngyù yǒu fēngfù de xiàngmù jīngyàn, fúwù guo wǔshí duō jiā qǐyè.

We have rich project experience in the new energy sector, having served over fifty enterprises.

This phrase builds credibility by connecting your expertise to a concrete domain and a quantifiable track record. Numbers such as client counts or years of experience make the claim tangible.

Product introduction phrases

这是我们的主要产品 — This is our main product.

这是我们的主要产品,一款企业级数据分析平台。

Zhè shì wǒmen de zhǔyào chǎnpǐn, yì kuǎn qǐyè jí shùjù fēnxī píngtái.

This is our main product — an enterprise-grade data analytics platform.

Open a product introduction by naming the product and its category. This gives the listener a frame before you go into features.

这个产品的特点是…… — The features of this product are…

这个产品的特点是实时数据处理和多维度报表生成。

Zhège chǎnpǐn de tèdiǎn shì shíshí shùjù chǔlǐ hé duō wéidù bàobiǎo shēngchéng.

The features of this product are real-time data processing and multi-dimensional report generation.

Use this phrase to highlight two or three distinguishing capabilities. Avoid listing every feature — pick the ones that matter most to your listener.

很多客户都在用 — Many customers are using it.

很多客户都在用,包括几家行业龙头企业。

Hěn duō kèhù dōu zài yòng, bāokuò jǐ jiā hángyè lóngtóu qǐyè.

Many customers are using it, including several industry-leading enterprises.

Social proof strengthens a product introduction. Naming the type of customer — industry leaders, Fortune 500 companies, or a specific sector — is more persuasive than a vague "everyone uses it."

Module 3: Introduction Practice Scenarios

Reading phrase lists is useful, but introductions happen in real situations with real people waiting. These four scenarios show how the phrases come together in context. Each one includes a full script with characters, pinyin, and English.

Scenario 1: Client meeting introduction — 客户会议介绍 (kèhù huìyì jièshào) — client meeting introduction

Context: You are meeting a potential client for the first time at their office.

  • You — Chinese: 王总,您好。我是星辰科技公司的项目经理李明。我主要负责海外市场开发。很高兴认识您。
  • You — Pinyin: Wáng zǒng, nín hǎo. Wǒ shì Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī de xiàngmù jīnglǐ Lǐ Míng. Wǒ zhǔyào fùzé hǎiwài shìchǎng kāifā. Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nín.
  • You — English: Hello, Director Wang. I'm Li Ming, project manager at Xingchen Technology. I'm mainly responsible for overseas market development. Nice to meet you.

  • Client — Chinese: 李经理,你好。欢迎来我们公司。请坐,我们先喝杯茶。

  • Client — Pinyin: Lǐ jīnglǐ, nǐ hǎo. Huānyíng lái wǒmen gōngsī. Qǐng zuò, wǒmen xiān hē bēi chá.
  • Client — English: Hello, Manager Li. Welcome to our company. Please sit down, let's have some tea first.

Notice how the introduction is short and structured: greeting with title → name, company, role → responsibility → polite close. The client responds warmly and sets the pace. This is the ideal rhythm for a first meeting — do not rush past the introduction into the agenda.

Scenario 2: Conference introduction — 会议介绍 (huìyì jièshào) — conference introduction

Context: You are introducing your company to an audience at an industry conference.

  • You — Chinese: 各位好。我是李明,来自星辰科技公司。我们公司成立于二零一五年,主要经营智能制造设备。我们在新能源领域有丰富的项目经验。今天我想和大家分享我们在自动化方面的实践。
  • You — Pinyin: Gèwèi hǎo. Wǒ shì Lǐ Míng, láizì Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī. Wǒmen gōngsī chénglì yú èr líng yī wǔ nián, zhǔyào jīngyíng zhìnéng zhìzào shèbèi. Wǒmen zài xīn néngyuán lǐngyù yǒu fēngfù de xiàngmù jīngyàn. Jīntiān wǒ xiǎng hé dàjiā fēnxiǎng wǒmen zài zìdònghuà fāngmiàn de shíjiàn.
  • You — English: Hello everyone. I'm Li Ming, from Xingchen Technology. Our company was established in 2015, mainly dealing in smart manufacturing equipment. We have rich project experience in the new energy sector. Today I'd like to share our practices in automation.

A conference introduction is slightly longer because the audience needs context. The structure remains the same: greeting → name and company → founding year and core business → expertise → purpose of the talk. Keep each section to one sentence.

Scenario 3: Phone introduction — 电话介绍 (diànhuà jièshào) — phone introduction

Context: You are calling a new contact for the first time.

  • You — Chinese: 您好,请问是张经理吗?我是星辰科技公司的李明。我打电话是想介绍一下我们的数据分析平台,不知道您现在方便吗?
  • You — Pinyin: Nín hǎo, qǐngwèn shì Zhāng jīnglǐ ma? Wǒ shì Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī de Lǐ Míng. Wǒ dǎ diànhuà shì xiǎng jièshào yíxià wǒmen de shùjù fēnxī píngtái, bù zhīdào nín xiànzài fāngbiàn ma?
  • You — English: Hello, is this Manager Zhang? I'm Li Ming from Xingchen Technology. I'm calling to introduce our data analytics platform — is this a good time?

On the phone, speed and courtesy matter most. Confirm the person's identity, state your name and company, say the purpose in one sentence, and immediately check whether they can talk. The phrase 不知道您现在方便吗? (bù zhīdào nín xiànzài fāngbiàn ma? — Is this a good time?) is essential — it respects their schedule and improves the chance of a real conversation.

Scenario 4: Email introduction — 邮件介绍 (yóujiàn jièshào) — email introduction

Context: You are writing a cold introduction email to a potential partner.

  • Subject — Chinese: 星辰科技公司介绍 —— 智能制造解决方案
  • Subject — Pinyin: Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī jièshào —— Zhìnéng Zhìzào Jiějué Fāng'àn
  • Subject — English: Xingchen Technology Company Introduction — Smart Manufacturing Solutions

  • Body — Chinese: 张经理,您好。我是星辰科技公司的李明,主要负责海外市场开发。我们公司成立于二零一五年,主要经营智能制造设备。我们的数据分析平台已被多家行业龙头企业采用。如果您感兴趣,我很乐意安排一次简短的电话交流。期待您的回复。

  • Body — Pinyin: Zhāng jīnglǐ, nín hǎo. Wǒ shì Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī de Lǐ Míng, zhǔyào fùzé hǎiwài shìchǎng kāifā. Wǒmen gōngsī chénglì yú èr líng yī wǔ nián, zhǔyào jīngyíng zhìnéng zhìzào shèbèi. Wǒmen de shùjù fēnxī píngtái yǐ bèi duō jiā hángyè lóngtóu qǐyè cǎiyòng. Rúguǒ nín gǎn xìngqù, wǒ hěn lèyì ānpái yí cì jiǎnduǎn de diànhuà jiāoliú. Qīdài nín de huífù.
  • Body — English: Hello, Manager Zhang. I'm Li Ming from Xingchen Technology, mainly responsible for overseas market development. Our company was established in 2015, mainly dealing in smart manufacturing equipment. Our data analytics platform has been adopted by multiple industry-leading enterprises. If you are interested, I'd be happy to arrange a brief call. Looking forward to your reply.

An email introduction follows the same structure as a spoken one, but you can include slightly more detail because the reader can scan at their own pace. End with a clear, low-pressure next step — a brief call — rather than asking for a commitment.

These are scripted drills, not rigid templates. For interactive practice with varied partners and reactions, move from these examples to AI Role-Play and repeat each scene with different names, companies, and products.

Module 4: Introduction Tips

Keep it concise — 简洁 (jiǎnjié) — concise

An effective introduction is short. Aim for 20 to 30 seconds for a self-introduction, and under one minute for a company or product introduction. If you are speaking at a conference, keep the introductory portion under two minutes before moving to your main content. 简洁 (jiǎnjié — conciseness) signals that you respect the listener's time.

Highlight key points — 突出重点 (tūchū zhòngdiǎn) — highlight key points

Choose two or three things you want your listener to remember — your role, your company's core strength, or your product's main advantage — and make those the backbone of your introduction. Resist the temptation to list everything. 突出重点 (tūchū zhòngdiǎn — highlighting key points) makes your introduction memorable.

Adjust for your audience — 根据听众调整 (gēnjù tīngzhòng tiáozhěng) — adjust based on audience

The same introduction should sound different depending on who is listening. A technical audience wants to hear about product features and specifications; a business audience wants to hear about results and clients. 根据听众调整 (gēnjù tīngzhòng tiáozhěng — adjusting for the audience) means choosing the details that matter most to the person in front of you.

Practice until smooth — 反复练习 (fǎnfù liànxí) — repeated practice

An introduction that looks good on paper can still feel awkward when spoken. The solution is simple: say it aloud, many times, until the words flow without hesitation. 反复练习 (fǎnfù liànxí — repeated practice) turns written phrases into natural speech. Rehearse in front of a mirror, record yourself, or practice with AI Role-Play for realistic feedback on pacing and tone.

Practice Business Chinese Introduction Phrases with AI Role-Play

Reading a phrase list is not the same as standing in front of a client, waiting for your turn to speak. AI Role-Play gives you a low-pressure way to rehearse the moments where introductions matter: the first handshake at a client meeting, the opening minute of a conference talk, the first ten seconds of a cold call, or the first line of an introduction email.

The AI plays your counterpart. You deliver your introduction, it responds naturally, and you keep the exchange going — then you get instant feedback on whether your structure was clear, your tone was appropriate, and your key points landed.

A useful practice loop:

  1. Choose a scenario: client meeting, conference, phone call, or email.
  2. Deliver your introduction using the phrases from Module 2.
  3. Listen to the response and adjust your follow-up based on the counterpart's reaction.
  4. Repeat the same scenario with a different role, company, or product to build flexibility.
  5. Ask the AI for feedback on conciseness, key-point clarity, and audience fit.

Begin with this instruction:

请和我练习商务中文自我介绍。请扮演一位第一次见面的客户,我做完介绍后请回应,并纠正我的表达是否简洁得体。

Qǐng hé wǒ liànxí shāngwù Zhōngwén zìwǒ jièshào. Qǐng bànyǎn yí wèi dì yī cì jiànmiàn de kèhù, wǒ zuò wán jièshào hòu qǐng huíyìng, bìng jiūzhèng wǒ de biǎodá shìfǒu jiǎnjié détǐ.

Please practice business Chinese self-introduction with me. Act as a client I am meeting for the first time. After I finish my introduction, please respond and correct whether my expressions are concise and appropriate.

Use Practice Introduction Scenarios to rehearse the client meeting and conference introductions, then try an Introduction Role-Play with a new context and counterpart.

FAQ

How do I introduce myself in business Chinese?

Start with a formal greeting using the person's title and surname — 王总,您好 (Wáng zǒng, nín hǎo — Hello, Director Wang). Then state your name, company, and role in one sentence: 我是星辰科技公司的项目经理李明 (Wǒ shì Xīngchén Kējì Gōngsī de xiàngmù jīnglǐ Lǐ Míng — I'm Li Ming, project manager at Xingchen Technology). Add one line about your responsibility with 我主要负责…… (Wǒ zhǔyào fùzé… — I'm mainly responsible for…), and close with 很高兴认识您 (Hěn gāoxìng rènshi nín — Nice to meet you). Keep the whole introduction under 30 seconds. Use 您 (nín — you, formal) for clients and senior contacts.

How do I introduce my company?

Open with the founding year and headquarters: 我们公司成立于二零一五年,总部在上海 (Wǒmen gōngsī chénglì yú èr líng yī wǔ nián, zǒngbù zài Shànghǎi — Our company was established in 2015, with headquarters in Shanghai). Then state your core business with 我们主要经营…… (Wǒmen zhǔyào jīngyíng… — We mainly deal in…) and add credibility with 我们在……领域有丰富经验 (Wǒmen zài… lǐngyù yǒu fēngfù jīngyàn — We have rich experience in…). Include one quantifiable detail — a client count, a years-of-experience figure, or a notable project — to make the introduction concrete rather than generic.

How do I introduce products professionally?

Begin by naming the product and its category: 这是我们的主要产品,一款企业级数据分析平台 (Zhè shì wǒmen de zhǔyào chǎnpǐn, yì kuǎn qǐyè jí shùjù fēnxī píngtái — This is our main product, an enterprise-grade data analytics platform). Then highlight two or three distinguishing features with 这个产品的特点是…… (Zhège chǎnpǐn de tèdiǎn shì… — The features of this product are…). Add social proof with 很多客户都在用 (Hěn duō kèhù dōu zài yòng — Many customers are using it) and name the type of customer if possible. Avoid listing every feature — pick the ones most relevant to your listener and keep the introduction under one minute.

How long should an introduction be?

A self-introduction should take 20 to 30 seconds. A company or product introduction should stay under one minute. At a conference, keep the introductory portion under two minutes before moving to your main content. In an email, keep the body to four or five sentences. The guiding principle is 简洁 (jiǎnjié — conciseness): say enough to give context and establish credibility, then stop. If the listener wants more detail, they will ask — and an introduction that invites questions is more effective than one that answers them all.
